A peaceful and rural neighbourhood

Tijola is on the outskirts of Orgiva, close enough for all amenities, but set apart in the countryside. It's very quiet here, everyone is tending their olives trees or looking after their gardens.

This sunny and bright little house sleeps four and is perfect for family holidays. The location of the house is in Tijola, 20 minute’s stroll from Orgiva down a quiet country road. It’s easy to get to and other attractions like the beach and white mountain villages are 40 minutes’ drive in opposite directions.

The house, and Tijola itself, is very pretty—full of colourful flowers, shrubs and olive trees. The garden is lawned for running around and playing and jumping straight into the pool! The covered porch, furnished with dining table and chairs, looks directly onto the pool and garden and is the perfect spot to eat your barbecued lunch.

Although the houses in Tijola have neighbours, this house is fenced in all around and is very private. It is a peaceful and rural neighbourhood with older folk tending their gardens, pruning their olive trees or feeding their chickens.

Comfy open-plan living

The house is laid out attractively and is all on one floor. You'll have everything you need in this sunny holiday cottage.

Inside, the open-plan house is all on one floor. The living room/diner is comfortable with two sofas and a TV as well as the dining table and chairs. It has the benefit of air conditioning and the kitchen is separated from the living room/diner by open arches. In the kitchen is everything you need to make holiday meals, a four-ring gas hob and small grill/electric oven, microwave, fridge -freezer, twin sinks and cooking equipment. The kitchen is done out in a rustic Spanish style with bright tiles and traditional curtains instead of doors for cupboards.

The twin bedded room with views to the mountains is colourful and appealing. The double bedroom is a similarly cheery yellow and looks to the front of the house. The bedrooms are separated by the bathroom which is decorated with stylish blue and white tiles, it has a shower, wc, bidet and handbasin.

So convenient for sightseeing

The beaches of the Costa Tropical are only half an hour's drive away, as are the traditional 'white villages' of the Alpujarras. The jewel of Granada and the Alhambra are an easy day trip.

The location of this attractive house is a real bonus, handy to nip into Orgiva town for supplies or to eat out. A day at the beach is so easy too—40 minutes and you’re at the Costa Tropical. Turn west and you’re at Salobreña with its gently sloping beach and hilltop castle, a little further along is larger Almuñecar with its lively Friday market. To the east there’s the port town of Motril and beaches of Torrenueva and Calahonda. Anywhere along this coast you’ll find no end of places to have local seafood for lunch—boquerones are good—crispy fried whitebait, and during the summer months, freshly caught sardines grilled on the beach.

If you want an authentic taste of Alpujarran white villages, the road north of Orgiva will take you up to Pampaneira, Bubion and Capileira. Spend a day visiting these three mountain villages and you’ll be amazed by the views, the picturesque houses and quaint streets. You can buy locally made handicrafts for souvenirs, sample wine from this region and taste jamon serrano, cured ham, the Alpujarran delicacy. An hour’s drive away is the majestic city of Granada. Sample full-on Andalucian culture with flamenco, museums, baroque churches and the glory of them all, the Alhambra.
