The view of the Sierra Lújar takes centre stage
This two bedroomed property takes up the ground floor of a two-storey house. There are no tricky stairs to navigate and the top floor is empty, ensuring peace and quiet.
This house is set in the countryside a short drive from Orgiva town. The house is simple yet attractive and well located for exploring a variety of activities in the region of Las Alpujarras.
The house is very easy to get to, just off the main (but quiet) rural road A-4132 towards the white villages of Pampaneira and Bubion.
There is a concrete drive through iron gates. You can park on the property, with there being enough space for two cars. The house has a high fence all around, so although there is a house next door, no one can see in and your holiday will be private.
First impressions are of a garden that is full of colourful flowers. Roses, hibiscus and hydrangeas are well cared for and give a good show for this pleasant and pretty house.
Ideal for a family
Sleeping four, the house has one double and one twin bedroom
The house is ideally suited to a family with two children as the bedrooms consist of one double bedroom and one twin. The double bedroom is simple and neat, all decorated in white. It has two bedside lamps on corner shelves on either side of the bed.
The twin room is next door. Like the double it has built in clothes storage, a small wooden chair and a portable radiator. There is a bedside table and lamp in between the beds.
Although the bedrooms do not have en suite facilities, the bathroom for the house is in close proximity.
The bathroom is smartly tiled in blue and white with pale yellow walls – it is very clean and fresh. The facilities comprise of a walk-in shower, WC, stone topped wash basin and a large, well-lit mirror which takes advantage of all the sunshine coming in.
One large living space
The open-plan living area space is divided into a kitchen, living room and dining area.
The traditional style kitchen is separated from the dining/living area by a wooden worktop bar. As is the usual Andalucian custom for country kitchens, gingham curtains form the front of the kitchen units which house the utensils.
The kitchen has a washing machine, 4 ring gas hob, microwave and fridge/freezer. Basics dry goods eg coffee and sugar are provided.
The kitchen tiles are a traditional al-Andalus design, you’ll see these patterns throughout your stay in this region. They hark back to medieval times when this area had a Moorish population, now gone but not forgotten.
The dining table seats four, although six could be seated with the two extra chairs available. The living room has an open fireplace, two sofas and a TV. The front door leads out directly to the furnished dining terrace, garden and swimming pool.
In a Spanish country garden
The outside is where you’ll want to breathe and relax. Full of well-established shrubs and flowers, the garden has colour and life.
Step outside from the living room and you are straight onto the dining terrace which borders the swimming pool. The terrace is furnished with a table and chairs for eating meals outside, it’s shaded with green canopy and a mature grapevine. There are lots of roses of all different colours and forms, and what’s more they are old fashioned ones with a proper scent.
The terrace looks out to the good-sized swimming pool which will provide outdoor fun for the whole family. The pool has the benefit of an outside shower and sunbeds are arranged around for days of doing nothing. There is also a hammock in the garden for doing exactly the same thing . . . snoozing!
The main feature of this appealing holiday house is its large, grassy garden full of fruit trees: níspora, plums, olive – just to name a few.
There is plenty of space for children to run and play, safely contained in the garden’s boundaries. The leaves of the trees rustle in the afternoon breeze and it’s such a peaceful spot, you can’t fail to relax.
At the side of the house is a paved patio area with a stone topped table and chairs shaded from the afternoon sun.
On the other side of the house is a brick built barbecue with work top space for food preparation. There is also a clothes line and pegs for drying laundry.
This house is in a great location to sample the delights of Las Alpujarras. The picturesque white villages of Pampaneira, Bubion and Capileira are 15 minutes’ drive away, a day at the beach is 45 minutes and the convenience of Orgiva town with bars and restaurants is 10 minutes down the road.

Karim (August 2018)
We had a fantastic week at this property. The pool was amazing and the house well equipped and comfortable. Fantastic views of mountains and forests from the lovely terraces. The gardens are also lovely with vines, fruit trees, olive trees, and beautiful flowers. The house is perfectly situated just outside of Orgiva, making access to the town easy but also to the mountain villages and Lanjaron.
Stuart (August 2018)
The owner was the perfect host. We had replies to texts immediately with really good advice on restaurants and local places to visit. She also checked in regularly by text to ensure everything was ok with the house and our stay, ensuring we had everything we needed, which we did. We had no problems at all with the house or anything else but felt reassured that if we did, she would be there to help.
