An unforgettable holiday

As the villa has six bedrooms and a guest cottage as well, there is space for the whole family across the generations. It's what lifelong memories are made of.

This spacious house with its immaculate gardens is as close to perfection as we have seen. The house itself is beautiful and the grounds are immaculate but it’s also located in a particularly attractive part of Andalucia with Casares, an authentic pueblo blanco only 5 kms away.

Protected in a green valley, the property is very private and quiet. The estate consists of three properties and their lawned grounds of 0.5 square kms.

The house was completely rebuilt in 2009 to superior standards. From the main entrance is a concrete drive through the lawned grounds, past the guest cottage (sleeps 4) to the main house. There is plenty of car parking space on the forecourt outside the house. On arrival, guests are given a remote control for the entrance gates.

You will be looked after by the admirable Graham, the estate manager, for whom nothing is too much trouble.

Spot on for attention to detail

The villa has so many features for your holiday pleasure, every need has been taken care of.

The lounge area is a very spacious place for everyone to gather for indoor group time. Despite being a large room it still feels warm and welcoming. The sloping ceiling is high for summer coolness and exposed beams are shown off to good effect. Double-glazed picture windows on each wall allow sunshine to light up the whole space.

A brick built woodburner with suspended chimney separates the living area from the dining space and will keep you cosy in cooler months (there are radiators too). There are eight leather chesterfield style sofas on which to relax, coffee tables and footstools and a giant flatscreen TV. Artwork, indoor plants and homely soft furnishings make this a comfortable place to relax.

There is a convenient cloakroom on this floor with a wc, large well-lit mirror and marble topped hand basin.

Cook up a feast indoors or out

The kitchen is well equipped to handle meals for the whole party, but cooking al fresco is much more fun. The villa has a barbecue and more than one outdoor dining space.

The living room segues into a dining room with enough capacity for 20 guests eat together at one sitting. Two long dining tables are set side by side with chairs for one table and bench seating, refectory-style for the other.

Through an arch from the dining area is the kitchen. The kitchen is long, galley style with granite work surfaces and all the appliances that you would expect: an electric oven, 4-ring ceramic hob, fridge freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer, twin sinks, microwave, kettle, toaster and coffee-making facilities.

Just outside the kitchen leading into the living area is another large fridge freezer. The kitchen is well equipped and has cutlery, crockery and glassware for 20 settings. Plastic utensils for al fresco meals have also been thoughtfully provided.

The kitchen has direct access to an informal, outdoor dining patio with a brick-built barbecue. This patio has seating for 10 at one table and seating for 6 at another close by.

So many beautiful bedrooms

All the bedrooms are appealing and bright with top quality bed linen.

CS12_07

The main house sleeps 12/14 guests in six bedrooms and a double sofabed in the loft. All bedrooms have air conditioning and central heating and all beds are 2 m long. Bedrooms 1 and 2 have double beds and are located on the ground floor leading off from the living area. They share a bathroom which has a large walk-in shower, washstand with a brass bowl hand basin, and a separate wc and bidet. Bedroom 1 has direct access to the barbecue patio.

The other four bedrooms are on the lower floor. To reach these four bedrooms, you go downstairs eight steps, turn on a landing and down another eight steps to a long corridor.

To the right of the corridor are bedrooms 3 and 4, both twin bedded en suite rooms. These attractive rooms have identical bathrooms with a bath tub with a shower over, wc, bidet and basin.

Come on, the hot tub's waiting!

Splashing around in your holiday hot tub, cocktail in hand, life's sweet ...

CS12_08

Bedroom 3 has direct access to the bar patio through French windows. Bedroom 4 is built on the corner of the house so has access to both the bar patio and the dining terrace.

Bedrooms 5 and 6 are both double bedded rooms with very similar en suite bathrooms. Both bathrooms have bath tubs with shower over, wc, bidet and hand basin. These bedrooms are to the left of the corridor. Bedroom 6 has direct access to the dining terrace and garden. The outdoor dining terrace and the bar patio are at the end of this bedrooms’ corridor.

The bar patio is a lot of fun! It has a jacuzzi and beach bar with with an iPod music system, so you can listen to your favourite sounds while shaking up a cocktail. The bar comes complete with a fridge freezer, sink, kettle and table for four. Access to the bar patio from the front door entrance is by  16 steps.

A pool terrace and a half

The swimming pool will be the focus of holiday action. The size of this pool terrace means everyone can join in.

The pool is a fabulously-sized swimming pool (9 m x 6 m and 1-2 m deep) which is overlooked by the house and accessed from the house by a series of steps to the terrace. The pool can be sealed off from the house to make the swimming pool and the garden lakes not accessible to unsupervised children.

Fourteen sunbeds are arranged around the pool looking out to the gardens beyond. The pool is accessed by four shallow steps into the water. flowers and shrubs provide colour and greenery while mature trees, as well as the parasols, give shade.

A fishpond and little cascade on the terrace is a lovely touch, you can hear the gentle trickling of the   water as you rest on your sun lounger. The pool has is overlooked by a formal outdoor dining terrace with place settings for 14. As the pool has night lighting, al fresco dining on this terrace is romantically illuminated by the swimming pool below.

As well as the swimming pool and hot tub, there’s also a sauna which can take 10 at a time.

Well cared for garden and grounds

The gardens of this villa are tended with care and attention. All you have to do is sit back and relax ...

CS12_10

The grounds and garden of this villa are of such dimensions and upkeep, you are holidaying in your own private leisure park.

There are paths and walkways around the grounds, a diverted stream to attract wildlife, and vast expanses of lawn to play on, walk on or just sit back and admire. The variety of trees, shrubs and flowers to identify and enjoy would keep anyone interested in gardening occupied for the whole of their stay! The estate has two gardeners who work when and wherever is most convenient for the guests.

There are strategically placed benches and picnic tables dotted around as well as a children’s slide and swing. On one part of the lawn is a volley ball/badminton net set up. Imagine relaxing in the sun, surrounded by these beautiful gardens, all you can hear are the bees, birds, leaves and laughter from the pool.

Interesting watery wildlife

The stream that runs through this property is rich in nature and full of interesting wildlife.

CS12_11

A stream runs along one side of the garden, ending in a wildlife pool. At places, this stream opens out into ponds full of life, they add a real, living dimension to the well-kept formality of the rest of the grounds. A little wooden bridge goes over the stream  from which you can watch aquatic life underneath and spend many hours being fascinated by the fish, frogs and terrapins.

But back to the house … The main staircase runs from the living room  to the first floor to the only room on this level: the TV chill out room.

This is a lovely sunny room and is the highest in the house. Its sofa converts to a quality double sofa bed. The large Sony TV and DVD player are perfect for film nights or for keeping younger ones entertained with a dose of their favourite programme. Blackout blinds ensure a good sleep or a good film.

Complete with its own cottage

For even more guest space, the estate has a self contained cottage slightly apart from the main house. The cottage has two double beds.

CS12_12

The villa has hosted weddings and for such events can arrange outside catering. For special occasions where extra beds are needed, this house can offer further accommodation.

For overflow guest accommodation only, the estate also has a self-contained cottage which sleeps four. The sleeping arrangements are two double bedrooms, one upstairs and one on  the ground floor. Both bedrooms have en suite bathrooms with a shower. The cottage is separate from the main house, and shares a small swimming pool with the estate manager’s house which is close by.

The cottage has the benefit of air conditioning and wifi internet. It also has a living room (with two sofas, flatscreen TV with English satellite channels, DVD player and dining table for 6). Kitchen facilities are provided too: fridge freezer, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, electric oven and hob, iron and board.

What more can we say?

"We were completely wowed by this splendid house/villa" (guest review June 2018)

The nearest town to the property is the delightful Casares 5 kms away, an authentic hillside pueblo blanco with restaurants and bars. Gaucín is a little further inland, with a Moorish castle and spectacular views. Crossing some dramatic landscapes is the famous town of Ronda. If it’s culture, beauty and history you’re after, look no further than this ‘city of dreams’. Golf and Mediterranean beach life are only 15 minutes’ drive away.

This villa is popular for large groups, particularly families spanning several generations. It’s not just that there is plenty of space, but that there are so many facilities to enjoy: the extensive grounds, the wildlife area to explore, fun in the jacuzzi-hot tub and last but not least the amazing swimming pool.

More about this region

Western Costa del Sol

There is more to the Costa del Sol than at first glance. Although the sunny, sandy beaches are famous, step inland a few kilometres and it's a different world. You'll find whitewashed villages full of flowers and vast expanses of Natural Parks with rare wildlife. These contrast with sophisticated resorts and golf courses - all basking in the glorious sunshine, the watchword for this region.
