A dream to share in 'The Valley of Happiness'
Miles from anyone, a whitewashed farmhouse basks in the sun.

This nineteenth-century Andalucian farmhouse has been restored with love. It was the owners’ dream to take this historical building and convert it into the luxury home you see today. Justifiably it is their pride and joy which they enjoy sharing, granting happy holiday memories to all those who stay here.
The house sleeps up to 10 with three double bedrooms on the first floor, and two small doubles on the ground floor.
Located in the Lecrín Valley, the house is miles from anyone else. Restábal, the nearest little village is five minutes’ drive away and Lake Beznar, a sparkling reservoir, is down below the estate. The villa is on top of a hill with olive, orange and lemon trees all around, planted in terraces on the hillside.
After having parked your car (there is space for parking 4-5 cars on the property) you walk along a gravel path, planted on either side with aromatic herbs, palms and flowers—all very pretty and well maintained.
Country style, homely quality
The house is furnished to a high standard, it is cosy, comfy and inviting.
Inside, the house has been decorated and furnished to be in keeping with a country farmhouse.
The living-dining room is a large, open-plan room with mezzanine above.
Two 3-seater sofas and armchairs, all in classic white, are arranged around a coffee table with their focus on an open fire in the corner chimney breast. There is also a TV, small occasional tables, a writing bureau and lamps for gentle light during cosy evenings in.
Two tall, shuttered windows let sunlight flood in. The interior walls are light terracotta setting off nicely the exposed wooden ceiling beams and terracotta floor tiles.
The dining table in the living room seats eight to ten.
The attractive country-style kitchen has solid wooden units, with all modern appliances you’d expect: 5-ring gas hob, electric oven, microwave/grill, dishwasher, twin sinks, food processor, kettle, coffee making facilities. Also on the ground floor is a bar area with a small drinks refrigerator and a cloakroom WC.
The house has the benefit of satellite TV, wifi which extends down to the pool, and music speaker system.

Set in an area of such outstanding natural beauty
An ideal location for day trips to Granada or to Costa Tropical.

Three bedrooms are on the first floor all with en suite bathrooms (two bedrooms have walk-in showers, one has a bath tub with shower over, all have heated towel rails).
The master bedroom has a 5′ wide double bed (with deep intersprung mattress) and a juliet balcony. One double bedroom has a 6′ wide super-king-sized double bed (firm memory foam mattress). The other double bedroom has a 5′ wide double bed (with deep intersprung mattress).
All the bedrooms in this house have space, clothes storage, are tastefully decorated and every bathroom is pristine.
Two small double bedrooms are on the ground floor (with 4’6″ wide double beds), one bedroom is accessed by passing through the other. They share a bathroom with a walk-in shower.
All bedrooms in this house have ceiling fans and hairdryers. A baby’s cot and mattress (and high chair) are available on request.
Such a magical location
Situated halfway between the historical city of Granada and the beaches of the Mediterranean, the villa offers exciting choices for days out.
The villa has the most magnificent heated swimming pool (12 x 6 m, 1.6 m deep – 1 m) with magical views to the Sierra Nevada mountains—sparkling with snow until mid-summer. The water is accessed by gentle steps into the shallow end and a poolside shower is provided. The pool is gated to ensure no access for unsupervised children.
The whole pool terrace is a wonderful place to relax— there is a cane shaded pergola at one end of pool, comfy sun beds are arranged on the side, looking out to the mountains. The pool has night lighting for swimming under the stars (the starscapes here are amazing, by the way).
The house has a built-in barbecue close to the dining area under the veranda (table seats twelve) which has views to the open countryside and Lake Beznar.
The veranda is also furnished with eight cane armchairs with cushions for relaxing out of the sun. There is further outdoor dining in the courtyard patio all made pretty with a herring-bone brick floor and carefully planted with rosemary, lavender and margaritas.
The laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer is off this courtyard.
The villa is only a 30 minute drive from the culture of Granada city, its Alhambra Palace must not be missed. In the opposite direction, again only 30 minutes’ drive, are the beaches of the Costa Tropical. During the winter months, international-standard skiing is an hour away at Sierra Nevada.

More about this region
Lecrín Valley
This region is halfway between Granada city and Las Alpujarras—a superb location for Granada sightseeing, skiing and the beach combined with a pleasant semi-tropical climate. The Lecrín Valley played an important part in the Moorish kingdom of Granada and this region is rich with historical references to it. Most of the villages of the Lecrín Valley are on the banks of the Béznar Lake and there are many clearly marked hiking trails incorporating these little towns en route.
