Classical elegance in Gaucin's green valley

This beautiful property boasts incredible views from its hillside location and spectacular, light-filled interiors.

At a glance: bedrooms: 7, sleeping: 14 || Distance: 2 km from town

The height of self-catering in style and luxury

With a beautiful kitchen, understated indoor/outdoor dining, views of the valley and an indoor swimming pool, the house offers the best in self-catering holidays.

This sumptious villa is like a little palace set in stunning Andalucian country side. Surrounded by mountain scenery and pine covered hills, the villa is only 2 kms from Gaucín.

The house is set in its own private estate and you arrive at what is, in effect, the back of the house. Your journey ends at a water feature in a circular drive directly outside the villa.

The entrance hall with its cool, cream lines gives an initial taste of the quality of this house.

From the hall you have a direct throughview, into the living area and the open terrace with countryside beyond. Marble stairs lead up to the mezzanine floor overlooking the living room below.

The decor of the house throughout is all in neutral tones—white, creams and warm tones of pale beige. The result is timeless and peaceful.

A picture-perfect setting for a holiday

Sliding doors to the terraces allow the sunshine and outdoor breezes to come inside.

The living space (‘room’ is just too small a word!) is one of the grandest we’ve seen. Windows of double storey height reach up to the ceiling which is two floors high.

The room is south facing so sunshine fills the house all day.

Arranged around an open fire place are an extra long sofa, an upholstered pouffe and a coffee table. A winged armchair and matching footstool sit in the corner for extra seating and comfort. Everything is made cosy and stylish with Persian design rugs and plenty of cushions. There is a 60″ TV for your entertainment with DVD and CD player.

The living space leads out to a dining terrace with breathtaking views down the Genal valley. This terrace has a brick-built barbecue and is furnished with a dining table as well as sofas and armchairs to relax and admire the view.

Ceiling fans keep the summer heat at bay.

The master suite is a honeymoon-worthy retreat

A king sized bed, jacuzzi bathtub and views you will dream of.

The villas sleeps 12 adult guests, all accommodated in luxurious bedrooms. A children’s bedroom for two in bunk beds is located on the first floor.

On the ground floor are two bedrooms: 1 and 2. Bedrooms 1 is a double bedded room (the bed is 1.8 m x 2m) with en suite bathroom and access to the front terrace. Bedroom 2 is twin bedded and also has an en suite bathroom (shower over a bath). Both bedrooms have ceiling fans. The bathrooms of these bedrooms, as with other en suite bathrooms in this house are luxurious, with a neutral colour scheme and marble basin surrounds. All bedrooms in this villa (except one) have remote controlled bedroom blinds.

The kitchen is classically understated with cream units and black granite work surfaces. In this spacious and light kitchen there is all the cooking equipment you’ll need. The kitchen leads out to the dining room. With its smart dining table, comfortably seating 10, it’s a special place to eat together in a more formal setting.

There is a convenient cloakroom with WC on the ground floor.

This gorgeous natural setting

The location is an idyllic place for an unforgettable holiday with friends and family.

Three bedrooms, bedrooms 3, 4 and 5 are on the lower floor, the same floor as the magnificent indoor swimming pool (more of that later).

Two of the bedrooms are twin-bedded and share a bathroom (with walk-in shower). Bedroom 5 is a double bedded room with an en suite bathroom with shower.

Also on this lower floor you’ll find the laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer.

The remaining three bedrooms 6, 7 and 8 are on the first floor.

Bedroom 6 is a double master bedroom (the bed size is 1.8 m x 2 m) with an en suite bathroom having the benefit of a jacuzzi and walk-in shower. Bedroom 7 is twin bedded.

Bedroom 8 is the children’s bedroom with bunk beds.

On this first floor is a TV room with children’s toys, games and books to keep junior guests entertained.

Out or in - there’s always an option to suit your mood

This villa offers plenty of great living spaces inside and out.

This house has so many superb features, but the swimming pool has to beat them all.

The pool is an amazing 12.5 x 3.5 m and has been built indoors on the lower ground floor.

The area in which the villa is located in is a protected natural park, and an outdoor pool was prohibited by regulations. As a compromise, the pool had to be built inside, but it has an outdoor feel because of the huge glass sliding doors to the outside.

The pool room has direct access to the expansive sun terrace, which is provided with umbrellas and sun loungers, and looks out to the garden and countryside.

In addition, the pool room has a shower and wc, and the whole room can be shut for child safety.

A table tennis table and dartboard are also provided for different sporty activity.

Admire the green countryside and breathe in the pure air

Take a walk into town and enjoy a meal, a coffee or a night out.

The garden is planted with trees, pines, shrubs and lawn before blending into the natural landscape beyond. The mighty massif of the Sierra Bermeja rises up on the east and the valley continues down to the sea. Surrounded by nearly 3 hectares (roughly 7 acres) of its own private parkland, the villa is secluded and quiet. Sunbathing alone on the terrace you feel like you’re the only person in the world.

To reach the house you travel on an unmade farm track for 1 km, it can be rough in places, but nothing that a normal car can’t handle.

Finally, should be mentioned that this house has fast internet (6 MB) with internet boosters for inside and out (including the pool room) and also central heating and air conditioning throughout.

It would be hard to leave this wonderful villa for excursions, but if you wish to go out and about, there is plenty to see and do in the vicinity. Gaucín is a very pretty mountain village with an ancient castle—the ‘Castillo del Aguila’ and interesting old church. Attracting an arty crowd, the village has a good range of bars and restaurants, serving up more sophisticated fare than usual.

The beaches and golf of the Costa del Sol are only 40 minutes’ drive away, as is the famous town of Ronda, cross (spectacular) country in the opposite direction.

What do guests say about this villa?

“We were a family of 8 adults with 8 children, the youngest being 11 months. The villa provided the facilities we required to make a fantastic holiday plus the most breath taking views of the mountains. The owner met us on arrival in the village and took us to the villa via the rather rough track but when we saw the villa it made it all worthwhile. The first impression of the villa is unbelief and when you step inside it is unbelievable. The space is fantastic and the décor is wonderful . Every room had aircon which was welcomed in the 34 degree heat.  Being a large family the size of the villa meant we were not under each others feet. The pool was on the small side but the children were in it every day and thoroughly enjoyed it. Any problems we had were sorted promptly by the house manager. At the end of our stay everyone was sad to leave We would love to return some day..”

Previous guest

“Very comfortable house. Everything was in perfect condition. The owner and the caretaker were always ready to help. I definitely would rent this house again”.

The location is, in every other way, absolutely perfect. Its private, quiet apart from occasional tinkling of goat bells somewhere and with superb long distant views. It really is enchanting. The house is well managed and generally well equipped with baby and children’s gear. The indoor pool is lovely-narrow, long and well maintained. Table tennis, games & a relaxation area is nearby, great for non-sunworshippers. Fab the children didn’t need sun cream for the majority of their days here! The garden is lovely & chickens (fresh eggs!) are nearby.. Highly recommended for a relaxing family group or for some great fun with friends”.

More about this region

Ronda and Mountains

Ronda and its surrounding landscape has all that is symbolic of Andalucía—the land of passion, literary inspiration, bullfighting and romantic bandit stories. Its famous Puente Nuevo bridge, spanning El Tajo gorge, is unforgettable. Ronda is a magnificent city with a rich culture and history but this region also offers beautiful countryside, picturesque white villages like Gaucín, and the sea which is near enough for a day at the beach.
