Swim and sun through the autumn months

The sparkling pool has geothermal heating extending the season into the autumn sunshine.

This delightful whitewashed country house is set in private gardens and has a fabulous pool with geothermal heating, extending the swimming season by months.

The villa is to be found in the region of Subbética de Cordoba, one of Andalucía’s best kept secrets. Untouched by mass tourism, it offers an authentic look at rural Spain at its best. The pace of life here is stress-free, the people are welcoming, the olive trees extend for miles around and the sun shines virtually all year.

There is space to park two cars on the property, at the front door of the villa. The house leads in to an entrance lobby and then to a cosy living room.

The living space is calm and restful, all decorated in neutral tones, with the focus of the two sofas being on the glass-fronted wood burner and flat screen TV. Included is satellite TV (Free to view), DVD player and WiFi internet.

“A slice of heaven!”

“A week was way too short in this Spanish haven. The villa is superb and the surroundings stunning. Your little “casa“ is heaven on earth.“ (Guest review)

The house is a renovated farmhouse and it has been restored to be comfortable all year round. That means radiators in each room and fans in each bedroom. There are four bedrooms in the villa: one double on the ground floor, one double on the lower ground floor (eight steps down) and two doubles on the first floor. The first floor bedrooms have only one access so one room leads into another. These upstairs rooms are spacious and bright and have attractive exposed ceiling beams.

The ground floor bedroom has a shower room (shower only). The lower ground floor double bedroom has an en suite bathroom with a shower. It has independent access to the outside and the swimming pool.

A separate bathroom is on the ground floor. It comprises a bathtub with shower over, wc, hand basin and large, well lit mirror.

“We fell in love with the house, the view and the singing birds.”

The house is private and so, so quiet. All you'll hear are singing birds and buzzing bees.

The villa is south facing so gets maximum sunshine, and the pool terrace is just the place to relax in the sun. The terrace is a fabulous space, looking out to rolling acres of olive trees.

Quality sun beds are arranged around the sparkling swimming pool which is a good size—8 m x 4 m—and parasols are provided for shade.

Further shade is cast by a pergola with bench-style seating, other amenities include a poolside shower and barbecue. The terrace has been planted with palms, mature shrubs and pots of flowers to make everything  pretty.

A covered dining area (seating eight) has been built on the side of the house, overlooking the pool—a place to eat al fresco and enjoy the country view.

A superb choice for an authentic holiday

This region is the real face of rural Andalucía. Mass tourism is virtually unknown here and you'll be free to discover hidden Spanish gems.

This villa is in one of our favourite regions, not least because it is at the geographical cross roads of Andalucia itself. Although the countryside is peaceful and quiet, the four main roads to major cities meet here—north to Cordoba, south to Malaga, west to Sevilla and east to Granada—all within easy reach. In the middle is the culturally rich city of Antequera, definitely worth a day trip.

The area around and about this villa has plenty to offer for those who want to explore. As well as the iconic Spanish cities already mentioned, closer to the villa are less well known beauty spots. Priego de Cordoba with its baroque fountains, Zuheros of the flowery patios and Iznajar floating on its lake island. All in all, this villa is a great choice for an Andalucian holiday.
