Perfectly private, blissfully peaceful and delightfully calm
Nestled in its own 25 acres of private country estate, here you have everything you could wish for.
Only one kilometre from the lovely village of Aracena, a well-maintained farm track leads up to the entrance gates of this magnificent 25 acres of paradise. A private driveway through cork oak and chestnut trees brings you to the entrance of the house.
Harmoniously placed in this green landscape, you enter into a large, inviting courtyard. A covered gallery, with various seating areas, runs along the front of the house, you can choose sun or shade depending on the time of day. In the far corner, the covered lookout takes full advantage of the panoramic views over the pool below and across the landscape beyond. This is the perfect spot at any time of day but especially at sunset with a refreshing drink in hand.
At the centre of the courtyard is a lovely magnolia tree and with potted plants all around, jasmine and bright bougainvillea adorning the walls, this courtyard sets the scene for what awaits you inside.
Magical, stylish and extremely comfortable
This is the perfect family holiday home. There is plenty of space and a variety of activities to keep everyone entertained.
The building is an L-shape with one wing housing the living areas. These are inviting, bright and welcoming spaces, flooded with natural light. The large French doors along one side allow the wonderful Andalucian sunshine in. A fantastic country kitchen and dining room lead through to the living room. The kitchen has access to a terrace with stairs down to the gardens. The spacious living room opens onto the beamed, vine-covered dining terrace; it’s a perfect spot for all your al fresco meals and ideal for breakfast in the morning sun.
At the far end of the living room is a hallway where gated stairs lead down to a library (which has a good selection of books to choose from) and then through to a large games room. The games room comes complete with a pool table, “home cinema”? , board games and plenty of sofas to lounge around on.
This floor also has a shower room. From the games room, doors lead out onto the lawned area at the back of the house where you can enjoy a game of boules or croquet??
Set in a nature-lovers' paradise like no other
The scenery is stunning, you are surrounded by a myriad of fantastic walks. And you always have the fabulous pool to return to.
The second wing of the house is where the four large bedrooms are to be found. One is a king-sized master bedroom with windows on both sides of the room and a private corner terrace with seating and, of course, the same wonderful views! The en suite bathroom is a lovely mosaic-tiled room with a shower over the bath.
The other three bedrooms can be made up as doubles or twins, as you prefer – they share two bathrooms (one with a walk-in shower and one with a shower over the bath). They are all spacious and light and they all lead off from a corridor, with doors on its other side, opening on to the entrance courtyard.
From the courtyard and from below the kitchen terrace, stairs take you down to where you will find the laundry room and a small self-contained studio apartment. This apartment is ideal for a couple wanting a little extra privacy. It has a double bed, a small kitchen and seating area, and a shower room.
Wide steps continue down to a lower terrace and the magnificent swimming pool (14 m x 8 m). The pool terrace has everything you could wish for – a spacious surround with loungers and shade for relaxing in the sun or an afternoon siesta. The pool itself has night lights for a midnight swim, it has wide roman steps, and is fenced and gated for child safety – it’s perfection!
The pool has the most wonderful views, framed by the rich vegetation all around. You are surrounded by chestnut trees, bougainvillea and jasmine. Lavender and thyme cover the bank behind the pool, all filling the air with their wonderful scent – it is as close you can get to paradise on earth!
In this beautiful and secluded setting, surrounded by the gentle hills of Sierra Aracena National Park, you may decide you are happy to stay here and take full advantage of the peace and calm. But if you do wish to investigate the area you are in an ideal starting point from which to explore this (as yet) least visited, hidden corner of Andalucia. On your doorstep is great walking, cycling and riding country, with lots of pretty villages to visit. The closest village is Aracena which has a good selection of bars and restaurants – don’t miss a visit to the famous caves (Gruta de las Maravillas).
And if you wish to venture further afield, Doñana wildlife sanctuary and the Atlantic coast of Huelva, are less than two hours away. If you want a taste of classic culture, historic Sevilla, one of Spain’s most iconic cities, is also less than two hours’ drive – or you can hop across the Portuguese border at Rosal de la Frontera, just one hour’s drive from Aracena.
