Situated just below the village of Comares, this is an ideal location for a group holiday, or two families wanting to be near but independent of each other. It is a great base for a walking holiday, or for exploring the region and all the history and culture it has to offer. Or you might prefer just to relax by the pool – basking in the wonderful Andalucian sun. However you decide to spend your holiday time, this is self-catering in style.

The Finca and The Cortijo are side by side, in a haven of peace and tranquillity. The grounds planted with grape vines, almond and olive groves, are just 3 minutes’ drive, or a 20-minute stroll up to the pretty hilltop village of Comares.

Both properties have 3 bedrooms (sleeping 6 people), both are south facing, both look out to the swimming pool, the dining terrace and across the mountains, valleys and villages to the Mediterranean sea in the distance. Either villa can be rented independently and the other will be closed, giving you privacy and exclusive use of the pool and grounds.

Please note that during high season both properties must be rented together, sleeping a total of 12 people.

The Finca is the larger of the two villas. Built on two levels – you enter from the back of the house into the large, well equipped kitchen, complete with a dining table for six.

From the kitchen, double doors open to the shaded terrace that runs along the length of the first floor, a wonderful place to enjoy breakfast and the fantastic views.

From the kitchen, a hall leads to the three bedrooms: two doubles and one twin. The master king-sized bedroom, with en suite full bathroom, opens onto the first-floor terrace. The other two bedrooms, one double and one twin, share a bathroom (shower only).

From the kitchen, stairs go down to the lower floor – to a spacious living room, with big cosy sofas, an open fireplace, beamed ceilings. It is a perfect room for family gatherings. From the lounge, double doors open to a long terrace area in front of the house. This terrace has an al fresco dining area with a wooden table (seating 12) under its vine-covered canopy. At one end of the terrace is a gas barbecue, the other end leads round to the swimming pool and sun deck with its sun loungers and shades.

The pool is 8 m x 4 m with roman steps, an outdoor shower area and stunning views of the countryside.

The swimming pool is unheated and, depending on the weather, will be open from April until September inclusive.

Bookings at this property usually run from Saturday to Saturday but please ask about flexibility outside of high season.

Please, no smoking in the house.

 Services Information

Bed linen and towels are changed once a week.

The following services can be arranged in advance, all of them paid locally:
Catering for all three meals a day (a brochure can be sent for this) (extensive menus for every night or one or two nights), horse riding, massages, baby sitting and taxi transfers.

The region east of Málaga is La Axarquía. It is often overlooked as a holiday location, but it is full of authentic little villages, mountain trails, rolling hills of olive trees and 30 kilometres of clean beaches. Inland, the pace of life is unhurried and traditional, while the coast is fun but less touristy than west of Málaga. The variety of countryside on offer, in a relatively small area, means that you can ‘get away from it all’ in a landscape that suits you best.
